Product seemed great at first, then started to have some issues with the center(pop up piece).
Problem: It vibrates to the point that it’s so loud that I can hear it at any speed, with or without my full face helmet.
Disassembly: I used a drift punch and removed the roll pin so that the center piece slides completely out. From top to bottom there’s an o-ring, the spring, a nylon washer, and another o-ring.
Why the problem exists: The top o-ring had intentions on it from the spring. Not practical without a washer! The nylon washer has a small vent hole but also has no washer between it and the spring which will not allow it to seat properly against bottom o-ring.
Fix: remove the top o-ring completely, and add a flat washer between the spring and the nylon washer. IMPORTANT- the outside diameter of the flat washer must be slightly smaller than the nylon washer so that the vent hole is still functional. The washer removes the play in the center piece and evenly puts pressure on the nylon washer so that it and the bottom o-ring seats properly.
It looks great, but it’s overall performance before I altered & upgraded it, I rate it a 1 from the factory. After my correction I rate it a 7 only because it needs to be able to pop up a little higher so you can get a better grip on it.
